Demand for fully automatic moveable walls continues to grow
2018-05-31
Fully automatic operable walls are in higher demand than ever before according to Style - the UK’s leading moveable wall installation and aftercare provider.
Mike Fine, Style’s director for the Midlands, whose latest fully electric installation was at the Mountsorrel Memorial Centre in Loughborough, explains that demand is growing year on year thanks to the wide range of advantages full automation brings.
“The benefits of choosing a fully automatic moveable wall are becoming far more widely recognised by architects, specifiers, contractors and end-user clients,” said Mike.
“Not only do they make it far easier to divide space, simply by pushing a button, they also remove any chance of operator error. This means panels are much less likely to be damaged by poor handling because there is no manual intervention.
“To divide a room in two, all you have to do is press a button and the wall moves into place, and the seals always expand to precisely the right pressure, ensuring excellent acoustic privacy.
“They also stop automatically if they detect an object in the way, re-trying once before waiting for the item to be removed.”
Style is the exclusive UK partner to DORMA and Skyfold, both of which offer fully automatic solutions.
Skyfold is the hugely innovative, vertically rising acoustic moveable wall, housed in a ceiling cavity and descending effortlessly into place at the push of a button. Style has installed almost 250 Skyfolds in the UK.
DORMA produces the ComfortDrive automatic wall and, in the two years since its launch, sales have been phenomenal and already account for over 10% of Style’s DORMA sales.
“This is, without doubt, the way forward for creating flexible space in a whole range of sectors,” concluded Mike,” and we have seen demand from the corporate sector, education, local authorities, hospitality and many others.”
