Hospitality venues – is your moveable wall ready for the festive period?

The Christmas party period is upon us, and Style is advising hotels, restaurants and other event venues to check their moveable walls are operating smoothly.
Katie Mitchell, service and repair manager at Style south, says, “The Christmas season is the busiest time of year for most hospitality venues.
“Many rely on their moveable walls to divide their rooms into private areas, or open up their entire space into an open plan party venue – often changing the room configuration on a daily basis, or even during an event.
“This is important for maximising revenue as the moveable walls open up greater opportunities to host smaller concurrent events, or open up larger rooms for bigger functions.
“However, if a moveable wall fails to move into position, or a member of staff struggles to open it, this can become extremely stressful – particularly if you’ve booked out one room for two separate parties and need the wall in place.
“Consequently, if you haven’t had your moveable, sliding or folding wall serviced recently, now is a good time to do so to ensure it serves you well during the festive season.”
According to Katie, moveable walls are similar to cars in that they need routine servicing to ensure their long lasting, smooth operation.
“In the same way that a car needs routine servicing to give years of trouble-free motoring, a moveable wall needs a regular inspection and service to minimise potential downtime, preserve its acoustic integrity, ensure continued smooth operation and help comply with health and safety regulations,” said Katie.
