Refurbish and re-use becoming available for old moveable walls

With sustainability being at the forefront of all new build and refurb projects, Style is developing a service for refurbishing and re-using old moveable walls.

For companies, schools, hotels, community centres, local authority venues, healthcare centres, churches and any other building with moveable walls, Style can remove their existing wall, recondition and service the internal mechanism, add new panels and reinstall it so that it looks and operates like new!

For anyone looking for a movable wall, Style also plans to create a storage facility of used walls, where they will be reconditioned and made ready for installation.

It means that buildings that have not had a moveable, folding or sliding wall before can save money, and the environment, by choosing one that has been repurposed.

“Our UK-wide service and repairs team are often asked to return older moveable walls back to their ‘new’ condition, so that they can be given a new lease of life,” said Michael Porter, Style’s group managing director.

“We are now looking to extend this service to create a stock of walls that we have removed from customers’ premises. Rather than dispose of these walls, we can offer them for re-sale as part of a refurbished product range.

“The Dorma Variflex system comes with a 30 year life cycle, however many systems get removed within 5-7 years. We can offer a reused system which still has over 20 years remaining of its lifecycle, and Style will provide the warranty that you would get from a new product. We are also able to change the panel finish so, aesthetically, the wall will appear as new.”
