Q: Why is it important to service my movable wall or sliding folding partition?

A: A movable or operable wall can consist of panels that weigh from 100kgs to 500kgs with complex support structures and raceways. As a building manager or owner of the business it is your responsibility under current health and safety laws to ensure that these systems are properly maintained and recorded as being serviced.

The laws governing these products, and all types of operable walls or room dividers that run on tracks, are in the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and the Management of Health & Safety Work Regulations 1999.

Q: How often should I have my moveable wall serviced?

A: This depends on how frequently your folding partition is used and how complex the layout of the systems installed. We have experienced staff who can advise what is best for your system(s).

Q: Can Style service all types and makes of acoustic movable walls and acoustic sliding folding partitions?

A: As the UK’s largest suppliers of movable walls and folding partitions, and with agreements with DORMA, Espero, SWG, Skyfold and Modernfold, we have direct access to parts and technical expertise.  We can also service all other makes of room dividers from other manufacturers.

Q: My wall is an electric dividing wall and I am concerned that it needs regular servicing and can only be serviced by accredited engineers. Is this true?

A: Style is the only UK-based company to fit and install the complete range of fully automatic movable walls (Comfortdrive), semi-automatic folding walls (MOVEO/VARIFLEX), and fully automatic vertically folding panel walls (Skyfold). All are CE tested and installed by engineers who have been fully trained by the manufacturers and carry the necessary certification. It is important these folding dividing systems are serviced and repaired by our accredited engineers. If not the warranty provided by the supplier will be compromised. Genuine parts must be fitted otherwise your health and safety compliance will be jeopardised. The level of frequency of servicing to your Style award winning systems will be tailored to suit your needs by our experienced staff.

Q: Which areas do you cover?

A: We cover the whole of the UK, and we are the only operable wall company that has regional offices in Scotland, South West, South East, Midlands and North West, as well as a showroom in London. Beware of claims by other service providers.

Q: Are your folding or sliding partitions health and safety compliant?

A: To be health and safety compliant you must be able to demonstrate your systems are regularly maintained. The best way to do this is by a planned maintenance programme.

Q: Do you charge for safety checks or surveys?

A: No, we do not charge for a safety check or survey. Furthermore, when carrying out a service to your acoustic dividing wall we always try to carry out minor repairs to avoid a further costly visit.

Q: Is your work guaranteed and do your products have extended warranty?

A: All work undertaken is guaranteed for 12 months subject to our normal terms and conditions. All movable walls, folding partitions or dividing walls supplied by Style come with a 1 year warranty, and an extended warranty can be provided for products regularly serviced by us.

Q: Can I purchase spare parts?

A: Yes we can provide items such as handles, keys, seals and locks to our customers. But in order to preserve the product warranty it is important our fully trained engineers install consumables such as carriers or PCBs.

Q: Do you operate a 24hr emergency cover?

A: No, but you can find all of our regional office numbers on our webpages which do react to out of hours emergency calls.

Q: Are your components load tested and certified?

A: All of our components are properly tested and certified. It is very important that customers realise how dangerous it could be if a section of track or carrier(s) failed due to other suppliers copying components, not testing them and falsifying that the parts are genuine. Non-genuine and non-tested components could result in catastrophic health and safety failures.

Q: Can existing folding partitions or dividing walls be refurbished?

A: Yes, most movable wall panels have a facing board that can be unclipped so boards can be replaced to provide a fresher and modern uplift. At Style we can provide a FREE survey check to ensure this can be carried out.
