Glass moveable walls continue to grow in popularity

2023-05-25

2023 has seen continued growth in demand for glass moveable, folding and sliding walls, as the benefits of light, visible, flexible space are realised across multiple market sectors.

According to Mark Cowley, who heads up the glass division at Style, demand for non-acoustic glass moveable walls is growing particularly quickly, with shop frontages, banks, restaurants, reception areas, residential homes, winter gardens, airports and sports stadia/arenas all using these to create flexible space.

“We are seeing high levels of demand for our non-acoustic glass systems,” said Mark. “As a result we have recently expanded the glass section on our web site as well as developing new brochures, so that architects, contractors and end-user customers have access to all of the information they need to reach informed decisions.

“Style’s glass movable wall experts are also on hand to offer advice, and it’s important to talk to us as early as possible when carrying out any new build or refurb project so that we can recommend the best solution."

The new section of the web site, and the new brochures, provide information on Style’s portfolio of acoustic and non-acoustic glass partitions, including StyleFlex, HSW (Horizontal Sliding Wall), FSW (Folding Sliding Wall) and HSW Flex Therm (which offers protection against weather).

As the UK’s leading moveable wall specialist, Style’s website also offers ideas and inspiration to architects through its case studies section, where a wide variety of glass moveable, folding and partitioning walls are shown across a range of market sectors.

“We have extensive experience in glass moveable wall systems,” continued Mark, “from very simple manual folding walls through to fully automated systems.

“Our recent installations at Metropolitan Gaming in London and Kingsknowe Golf Club in Edinburgh, are great examples of how diversely non-acoustic and acoustic glass moveable and folding walls can be used to offer flexibility, and in both case studies these moveable walls enabled the creation of additional revenue streams as well as using the room space more effectively.”
