Rick Gibson, Style’s ‘Iron Man’ celebrates his 10 year work anniversary

2021-04-28

Style North installation engineer, Rick Gibson, is celebrating a decade of service having joined the moveable wall specialist in 2011.

As lead engineer on prestigious, high profile projects such as the Frederick Douglass Centre at Newcastle University, Rick is also a triathlete in his spare time competing in the gruelling ironman races which consist of a 2.4 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike and finishing with a full marathon.

Living just outside Bolton with wife Becki, who also works for Style north as an estimator, and daughter Lilly, Rick’s ironman best is a very impressive 12 hours, 10 minutes.

Andy Gibson, director of Style north, said, “Demand for moveable walls, and flexible space, is growing at a phenomenal pace.

“This is why it’s crucial for us to continue to invest in very high quality and experienced engineers such as Rick who have the expertise to work across our entire range of manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic acoustic moveable wall systems.

“With the further strengthening of our partnership with dormakaba, we are now venturing into a new and exciting phase of development at Style with exclusive UK distribution of their interior glass Horizontal Sliding Walls (HSW) range.

“This means that, as well as continuing to work in Style’s current core markets, Rick and our team of installation engineers will now bring their professionalism and expertise to delivering flexible space in airports, shops, shopping centres, stadiums, high rise winter gardens and banks where the HSW range is already incredibly well established.”
