Style joins team of volunteers for DIY SOS: The Big Build

Style Partitions in the North was proud to be part of the Children in Need DIY SOS: Big Build, which was aired on BBC1 on 16 November.

The project to build a new home for Leeds charity, Getaway Girls, was made possible after a large local homebuilder gifted them a piece of land in Seacroft.

Along with the support of local trades, suppliers and volunteers, DIY SOS constructed a purpose-built timber frame headquarters for the charity, which includes a multi-purpose activity space, creche, music/media studio, counselling rooms, office spaces and a full kitchen – as well as a garden area and parking.

Style played its part by installing a moveable wall kindly donated by Espero, which enables the Getaway Girls to split one of the community rooms into two, making the very best use of the space.

“We were delighted to be involved in such a high profile and inspiring project,” said Style’s Dan Forrest who was on site for the moveable wall installation.

“Children in Need, and DIY SOS, do such fabulous work for so many people that when the opportunity arose we didn’t hesitate to offer our services.”

If you didn’t manage to see it, the programme can be watched on catch up on the BBC iPlayer.
