Style sees moveable wall demand from football clubs

2021-02-23

From the Premier League to lower divisions, football clubs are the latest organisations using moveable walls to create flexible space.

That’s according to Steve Williams, sales director for Style Midlands, who says that clubs are looking to divide space in their coaching rooms, clubhouses and conferencing facilities for a wide range of reasons.

“If we start in the Premier League, Style has recently completed an installation at Leicester City’s new training ground, providing a glass folding wall in their analyst and technical coaching room,” said Steve.

“Further down the divisions, Style’s office in the south has recently completed a project for Wimborne Town football club, installing a moveable wall in their clubhouse so that they can rent the space out for dinners, conferences and events.

Style also completed similar projects for Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Burnley, Norwich, Blackpool, Chesterfield, Bolton Wanderers, Walsall Town, Worthing and Horsham FC in West Sussex.

“For smaller clubs, having flexible space can be really important to their ability to generate important revenue from renting their rooms out.

“It means they can quickly reconfigure their space, changing a large open plan area into a number of smaller rooms and running several events at the same time.

“Thanks to the superb acoustic ratings of our moveable walls, events can also take place either side undisturbed with integrated pass doors that allow staff and caterers to move easily between rooms.”

As the Covid-19 vaccination programme reaches a growing proportion of the UK population, there is renewed hope for the hospitality sector that things will be getting back to normal in 2021.

“Football clubs are often competing in their local towns and cities for hospitality business, and by offering flexible space can give them the important edge they need over other venues,” continued Steve.

“It’s for this reason we believe we’re going to see ever-growing demand from this sector as well as other sports clubs, such as cricket, golf and rugby clubs.”
