Leading moveable wall specialist, Style, has won a record 12th Gold award in the prestigious FIS Contractors’ awards.

The award was presented to Style’s group managing director, Julian Sargent, and Michael Porter, sales director for Style south, at a Gala Dinner at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London.

Style’s winning entry was a moveable wall installation at The Londoner Hotel where Style worked with architect Woods Bagot, interior designer Yabu Pushelberg, and contractors Blue Sky Building & EE Smith Contracts, to deliver extensive flexible space in the main ballroom and meeting rooms.

Style installed a 6 metre high, fully automatic, vertically rising Skyfold moveable wall in the main ballroom enabling the room to be quickly divided into two large event rooms or opened up into one vast space. With an incredible 59dB Rw acoustic rating, lively, large scale events can take place either side of the wall undisturbed.

In the hotel’s meeting rooms, Style installed various systems which combined semi-automatic Dorma Huppe Variflex double glazed moveable walls with 52dB Rw acoustic ratings and fully glazed pass doors. These meeting areas were then additionally sub divided with smaller Skyfold vertically rising walls offering complete flexibility.

“We’re delighted to have won the Gold award yet again,” said Julian Sargent. “During our 23 years in business, we have now won 12 Gold awards and 5 Silvers which is testimony to the quality of our people, products and reputation across the sector.”

The FIS Contractors’ award is unique in that every project is personally visited and assessed by the judging panel, and in presenting the award they commented, “The finished product is superbly fixed, of the highest quality and provides the flexibility that perfectly complements this hotel.”
