Work closely with Style’s flexible room designers – architects urged

Architects, specifiers and contractors are being urged to involve Style Partitions early in the design process when developing flexible space.

That’s the advice from group managing director, Julian Sargent, who says that Style’s design teams can provide advice, guidance and invaluable input when involved in the early stages of a project, to find the best solution for adaptable space.

“Far from simply being a moveable wall installation specialist, as the UK market leader in this field we offer a complete design and consultation service too,” said Julian.

“With four regional offices, evenly spread across the UK, and a showroom in London, Style has experts on hand to spend time with architects, specifiers, interior designers and contractors, either in the initial design period or on-site during the early stages of the project.

“The advantage to this is that we can give very clear assistance regarding which moveable wall solutions will work best, how the acoustic integrity can be maximised, the different parking options and whether a fully automatic, semi-automatic or manual solution would suit the room, client and budget best.”

Style recently completed an operable wall installation with Sheppard Robson and Sir Robert McAlpine at The Frederick Douglas Centre, Newcastle University - a £34million flagship building.

Due to the complexity of sub-dividing a stepped auditorium, Style advised during the design stages and the end result was a breath-taking fully automated solution with incredible 59DnT,w acoustics.

Andy Gibson, Style’s director for the north was responsible for this project and agrees with Julian.

“We have a tremendous, and very open, working relationship with both the architect and contractor,” said Andy. “As a result, they invited us to work closely with them from a very early stage and the results speak for themselves. This is, perhaps, the finest and most exciting moveable wall installation I’ve ever been involved in and the tri-party approach created incredible synergy for the customer.”

“All we suggest,” continued Julian, “is that, when you have a project you’re working on and you’re considering how to maximise the room space through flexibility, you talk to us without obligation and we will offer advice on both the factors to consider as part of the design, and the options available.”
