Working with Architect, Hassell, and contractor, Clark Contracts, Style was specified to enable the conference and training room to be divided into two separate rooms, as and when required.

Installing two Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable walls either side of a central column, the room can be easily opened up into a large open plan space, or quickly split into two individual rooms.

With an incredible 59db Acoustic rating, this is close to a sound proofed solution, which means there is no disturbance from events taking place either side of the wall, and the fabric wrapped Kvadrat Lloyd finish is the perfect complement to the clean and fresh styling of the room.

“This easy to manoeuvre, manual moveable wall is the ideal solution when you want to quickly sub-divide space and turn one room into two,” said David Louden, Style’s director for Scotland.

“The Variflex panels are manufactured separately to the frame, which also means that the panel linings are easy to change if one is damaged or scuffed, or the interior design of the room changes later on.

“This is ideal for busy rooms, or public spaces, as it saves a considerable amount of money if a replacement is needed, and with an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804, this is also a highly sustainable moveable wall.

“Since installing this moveable wall, Style has also been commissioned to provide routine servicing, which is very important with any moveable wall because it can extend its lifespan considerably.

“A regular check up ensures its continued smooth operation, compliance with Health and Safety Legislation, and for acoustic moveable walls, it also ensures its acoustic integrity remains intact.

“Regular servicing can also minimise the chance of any minor issue escalating into a more expensive repair later down the line, and we have examples of well-serviced moveable walls lasting up to 25 years.”
