Clarksons is the world’s leading provider of integrated shipping services, with an international client base.

At its head office in London’s St Katherine’s Dock, Style worked with main Contractors Overbury and architects TP Bennett to deliver stylish, flexible space in Clarksons’ meeting rooms.

The adaptable rooms were fronted with a double glazed DORMA Moveo partitioning wall system, with frames in a special paint finish and stretching 21 metres along the length of the building.

The facility to have a row of meeting rooms was then created by installing three Dorma Moveo walls buffering against the Moveo glass, these in a stunning Kvadrat Mechanism Hematite 009 stretched fabric finish.

The configuration gives Clarksons the freedom to have four separate rooms with pass doors for ease of access, two larger meeting areas, or one small and a very large area – all of which can be achieved without having to move the glazed wall at all. Alternatively, all of the walls, including the 21 metre Moveo glass partition, can be moved for a complete open plan.

With 50dB acoustics for the glass and 55dB for the solid wall, the moveable walls offered privacy during meetings, and the final blend of glass and fabric offered a classy, open, bright ambiance.

“Expectations are very high in the boardrooms and meeting areas of international PLCs, such as Clarksons,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s group managing director.

“The end result is a breathtaking operable wall configuration that is a real showpiece for Clarkson’s clients, staff and visitors, as well as being hugely practical when they need to quickly change how space is used.”
