etc.venues’ mission is to rescue people from the tyranny of dull meeting venues by inspiring them with vibrant design, contemporary art, fresh and carefully sourced food, and award-winning hospitality.

155 Bishopsgate has established itself as one of London’s most stylish conference destinations. Its two expansive multi-purpose floors, with 12 rooms, can accommodate large groups of 600 (floor one) and 475 (floor two) for events and exhibitions.

Working with Synergy Architects, and contactor, KPS Partnership, Style was specified to create a combination of meeting rooms to provide etc.venues with outstanding flexibility.

Using 6 Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable walls in total, Style installed a 21 metre wall down the full length of the main conference area, with 5 other moveable walls evenly spaced to create individual meeting rooms.

With each wall offering semi-automatic operation and a 52dB Rw acoustic rating, which delivers complete privacy when meetings are in progress, the moveable wall arrangement enables etc.venues to host an extensive combination of meetings by closing each area off into smaller meeting rooms, opening up multiple rooms into one larger meeting area, or moving all walls away to create a vast open plan conference/exhibition space.

“We have worked with etc.venues several times before,” said Michael Porter, Style’s group sales director, “and it is a privilege to be involved in creating market leading meeting, event and exhibition space.

“The Variflex moveable walls not only give this London venue extensive flexibility, but they also perfectly complement the very chic and stylish interior design of the building.

“Thanks to their ease of operation, the walls can be quickly manoeuvred in and out of position, making it simple to change the room many times a day if necessary and the semi-automatic operation means the acoustic seals are applied to the correct pressure each time ensuring privacy for delegates.”
