Located in Paddington Village, in the heart of Liverpool's Knowledge Quarter, The Spine is the northern home of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP).

The Spine was built to be a beacon of excellence, bringing together local communities, improving the wellbeing of its occupants and operating in a sustainable way. Wellbeing and sustainability are at the core of the building's design, and The Spine has been built according to the ethos and principles constituting the WELL Building Standard, making it the healthiest building in the North West and one of the healthiest in the UK.

Working with AHR architects, and main contractor, Overbury, Style was specified to create flexible space at The Spine.

To achieve a highly adaptable working environment, Style installed 10 Dorma Huppe semi-automatic Variflex moveable walls over 3 floors, each with a chic laminate finish. On the thirteenth floor, the Royal College of Physicians added its own graphics to create a highly stylish interior design.

Offering the ability to open up the floor space, or create individual rooms based upon requirements, the moveable walls not only offer flexibility but also provide exceptional privacy thanks to their impressive 57dB acoustic integrity. This means meetings and gatherings can take place undisturbed once the walls are in place, with the integrated pass doors allowing ease of movement between rooms.
