After two extremely successful installations at the Holiday Inn in Heathrow and Reading, Style was first choice to work at their hotel in Taunton.

With a requirement to sub-divide the main conference room to cater for different sized functions, the Holiday Inn had been so impressed with the DORMA product previously installed by Style at their other locations, the final selection was simple.

The same DORMA Variflex with its 55dB Rw acoustic rating was chosen, this time including pocket doors into a recess cupboard in a primed finish which could be decorated to the hotel’s specification.

Variflex was a great choice as it provides a wide range of elements and stacking/parking arrangements and is highly flexible - even when sloping ceilings or circular spaces have to be accommodated.

“Creating flexible space is naturally very important to hotels and conference centres as it enables them to use their rooms more effectively and profitably,” said Julian Sargent, Style’s Group Managing Director.

“We’re therefore delighted to be working with one of the leading and best-known hotel brands in the world to deliver solutions that are practical, stylish and easy to operate.”

Working closely with contractors and fit-out specialists, MSS Group, one of the rooms had a column which the panels had to navigate around. As a solution, Style matched the height of the panels to the column, offering a seamless finish with a full height pass door.

“With the moveable wall in place the conferencing room looked superb,” concluded Julian. “A solution like this offers so many options as to how hotels can use their space and enables them to accommodate parties of varying sizes and requirements. There are also numerous other options for hotels including vertically stacking walls, semi and fully automatic solutions and a wide range of stunning themes and finishes to complement the decor.”
