Working with contractor, Thomas Johnstone, and architects, 3D Reid, Style was appointed to create flexible space in both the main ballroom and the meeting areas as part of the refurbishment project. Dorma Variflex with a 60dB acoustic rating was chosen for the main ballroom in a stunning American black walnut finish delivering a breathtaking arrangement.

For the meeting areas, it was important to quickly reconfigure the rooms and breakout area, and to achieve this 55dB Dorma Moveo with semi-automatic seals was installed. Also in American black walnut, it offered consistent styling for the hotel by using the same finish across two different moveable wall solutions.

“Both partitioning wall systems offer the Sheraton Grand flexibility and superb interior design,” said David Louden, Style’s director for Scotland. “The systems are so light and easy to manoeuvre, the rooms can be reconfigured quickly and with very little effort.

“The acoustic qualities are superb, enabling events to be run in adjacent rooms without interference and we installed pass doors for ease of access when the walls are in place.”

“For hotels, flexible space is critical so that events can be run concurrently, therefore maximising revenue, and it means the best use of space can be organised depending on the size of the occasion. For this reason, we work with many hotels across the UK, and the hospitality sector is an area where we have a great deal of experience.”
