Falkirk school’s moveable
At a school in Falkirk, their 6.2metre high moveable wall had one of its panels stuck in the track and was not moving due to damage to the roller housing.
The moveable wall is important to the school as it enables teaching staff to use their space flexibly, and the wall being out of action was causing problems.
Having called Style’s service team at its Scotland office, its moveable wall technicians were quickly on site and able to safely drop the panel using a chain hoist.
They then opened up the access to the roller housing, removed the damaged part and sent it to a metal specialist to be straightened, saving money by not having to order new parts or, worse still, replace a whole section of the moveable wall.
The panel was then reconstructed, the roller changed and the panel reinstated to the track enabling the moveable wall to operate smoothly once again.
“Our technicians will always carry out a thorough assessment when determining the best approach to repairing a broken or damaged moveable wall,” said Angela McGowan, sales and service manager at Style Scotland.
“On this occasion, it was decided that the bent part could be repaired rather than replaced saving the school money.
“At over 6 metres high, this was also a very sizeable moveable wall to repair which is why it’s so important to have fully trained and accredited moveable wall technicians carrying out the work – and we are proud at Style that of our engineers are fully employed and health and safety trained, including CSCS, PASMA, asbestos awareness, manual handling and risk assessments.”
