Aviva has more than 320 years of experience in the insurance market, and in 2022 the company paid out £23 billion in claims. It’s also targeting Net Zero by 2040, stating that ‘when it comes climate change, we mean business’.

Working with architect, T P Bennett and contractor, Overbury, Style was specified to create flexible seminar space on floor 1 of Aviva’s London offices in Fenchurch Street.

Style installed a Dorma Huppe Variflex ComforTronic, semi-automatic moveable wall to separate off the seminar area from the catering and breakout zone. This moveable wall quickly and easily divides this very large room to enable seminars to take place in privacy, thanks to its outstanding 59dB acoustic rating.

A further Variflex semi-automatic moveable wall then gives Aviva staff the option to further sub-divide the seminar space into two smaller rooms when concurrent events are taking place at the same time. This ‘cross wall’ can be stacked independently of the main front wall system.

With both walls finished in a chic and stylish Kvadrat encircle fabric, one grey and the other a deep green, the moveable walls perfectly complement the interior design of the room.

“This is a very stylish seminar area,” said Michael Porter, Style’s group managing director, “and thanks to the ease of manoeuvre and high end acoustic ratings of these Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable walls it can be quickly transformed to cater for one large, or two small, seminars.

“Once the seminars are over, the room can also be fully opened up into a vast open plan area for catering and networking, making this an exceptional solution for Aviva whose requirements can change daily.”

Style is the exclusive UK partner to Dorma Huppe, offering a wide range of manual, semi-automatic and fully automated moveable walls.
