Center Parcs has more than 30 years’ experience in the UK short break market. It offers families the chance to escape daily stresses in beautiful woodland settings, with a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities, award-winning spa facilities, restaurants, retail outlets and a subtropical swimming paradise.

Center Parcs is also an exceptional business venue and, at Sherwood Forest, Style worked with
Architects, Jackson Design Associates, and contractors, The Jordon Group, to create flexible space within its conference and meeting centre, called The Venue.

To achieve this, 9 Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable walls were installed as part of a major refurbishment project, offering extensive flexibility to reconfigure the room for various events.

With an impressive 55dB acoustic rating on all walls, concurrent meetings and events can take place undisturbed and, by including numerous pass doors, Style created ease of access between rooms for staff when the walls are in place.

A common stacking area allows the entire area to be opened up into one large, open place space when larger events are taking place and the Variflex is so effortless to manoeuvre that the room can be changed for multiple events every day.

To complement the interior design of the room and the general ambiance of Center Parcs, Style provided a timber effect laminate finish on one side of the walls, the client adding a natural woodland wallpaper to the other.

“This is a very good example of how to take a large open space and install a combination of moveable walls to create true adaptability,” said Steve Williams, Style’s sales director for the Midlands.

“For Center Parcs, it enables them to maximise the use of their meeting and conference facilities, making this a superb facility for corporate events.

“Center Parcs also has a keen focus on sustainability and minimising its carbon footprint, and the Variflex walls fit that model perfectly thanks to their EPD certification in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN15804.”
