Coventry Building Society is the UK's second largest building society and a top-10 UK savings and mortgage provider with almost 2 million members.

Its 40,000 sq ft head office building features a range of collaborative spaces for in-office employees and zoom pods for hybrid working. Named as one of the best places to work in the country, it has flexible rooms that can be used for meetings, conferences or training sessions, and large collaboration spaces where people can come together.

Working with contractors, Barnwood, Style was specified to create the flexible space that was so important to the working environment.

In the meeting areas, Style installed a Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable wall which was agreed as the best solution due to its effortless manoeuvrability and 55db acoustic rating.

This lightweight wall offers smooth operation, which means it can be opened or closed with ease, and the top end acoustic rating enables meetings and other gatherings to take place either side without sound interference.

It means, when the wall is in place, a noisy event can take place in one half of the room while employees relax in peace in the other. However, when the wall is not in use,  the entire room can be opened up into one expansive space.

“This is a top end moveable wall from Dorma Huppe with high end acoustics and a chic white finish,” said Steve Williams, sales director for Style Midlands.

“A key advantage of this moveable wall solution is that the panels are manufactured separately to the frame. This means the panel linings are easy to change if one is damaged or scuffed, or the interior design of a room changes later on.

“With an environmental product declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804, our moveable wall solution is also highly sustainable, which fits well with this building’s green credentials as it is very eco-friendly and powered by renewable energy with 632 high-efficiency solar panels on the roof.”
