Henderson Global Investors is an international company that employs more than 1,000 members of staff worldwide. At TIAA Henderson Real Estate, flexibility was required for new meeting rooms on the 9th floor of its prestigious London offices with no better solution than the new soundproofed Skyfold.

Working with architects, Pringle Brandon Perkins & Will, and the contract managed in-house by Henderson TIAA’s own team, this was the first installation of the new Skyfold STC60 since its launch into the UK market, with 3 systems being used to sub-divide space.

Skyfold STC60 is a truly groundbreaking vertically rising, fully automatic, acoustic moveable wall. With a 59dB rating, it offers a level of soundproofing which is unrivalled by any other moveable wall solution of its type.

Operated by the push of a button, the wall glides effortlessly and quickly into place and, because it is housed in the ceiling cavity, it maximises floor space and is completely hidden when not in use.

“Henderson Global Investors led the way in corporate interiors back in 2009 when we installed seven Skyfold partitions in our new London headquarters,” explains facilities director, Fred Kinahan. “Since then, we have been impressed by the acoustic privacy they achieve between the divided areas, the ease-of-use of the Skyfolds, as well as their excellent reliability. The new STC60 system was the obvious choice for TH Real Estate.”

Rob Price, lead designer for Pringle Brandon Perkins and Will added, “We have worked with Skyfold partitions in a number of high-status offices and we’re really pleased with the quality of the installation throughout the whole of this project."

Julian Sargent, Style's group managing director, concluded, "In 2013, we installed our 100th Skyfold in the UK, having launched the product 10 years earlier.

“To give an indication of how popular this moveable wall system is becoming, another 57 have been specified in the last 11 months and orders for Skyfold continue to rocket.

“It has always been ahead of its time as a means of dividing space, however with the introduction of the new soundproofed STC60 model it is now head and shoulders above anything else on the market.

“Henderson Global Investors already have 7 Skyfold walls in place within their London head office, and the 3 new STC60 systems means they now have 10 in total – clearly demonstrating how important this operable wall is to them.

“And as the photos show, the finish on these new walls is breathtaking with some striking graphics to complement their stunning interior design.”
