For a firm of the calibre and reputation of Lockton, image is essential making this a very high specification project. And Style was delighted to be appointed to work with architects, HOK International and London’s elite fit out specialists ISG.

With aesthetics, acoustics and ease of use being vital criteria for their conference rooms, Style recommended DORMA Variflex. As a semi-automatic (or manual) partitioning wall, Variflex is incredibly stylish, extremely flexible and very simple to operate. It also has an additional feature – a flush telescopic panel – which is always met with exceptional feedback once in situ.

“The telescopic section on the DORMA Variflex product is a really outstanding feature,” explained Julian Sargent, Style’s Group Managing Director, “whether used on a manually operated or semi automatic wall.

“Because once installed the end closure moves allowing the partition to be set up and sealed acoustically, then it sits flush against the rest of the wall. This means it looks like one solid wall, rather than having any form of protrusion or bulky unsightly end expanding section.”

As well as offering Lockton a completely snug fit, Style also enhanced the room’s acoustic performance with special Rekton acoustic sound absorbing boards.

“Working closely with HOK International and ISG we agreed to fit the slotted acoustic boards to one side of the walls to meet their specification and to ensure a perfect installation and overall performance,” concluded Julian “and after a very well-managed 16 week fit out the conference room looked and sounded incredible, and I would recommend any company looking for flexible office space to consider the Variflex product as it has such extensive qualities."

Mike Kerridge, Facilities Director at Lockton, added, “We have extremely high standards throughout our business, and we demand the very best from all of our suppliers. Style impressed us every step of the way – not just in terms of the final product but the entire process from initial consultation through to final installation."
