Formed in 1962 in Worcester, Worcester Bosch Group has had many transformations during its history, growing from a small engineering works to the market leader in boilers in the UK that it is today.

Part of the Bosch Group, itsproducts and services are designed to improve the quality of life by providing solutions which are both innovative and beneficial.

Working with architect, Corstorphine & Wright, and contractor, Speller Metcalfe, Style was specified to create wide-ranging flexibility in Worcester Bosch’s training and meeting area. This was not the first time Style had worked with this client, having previously installed a glass moveable wall in their reception area.

Choosing a semi-automatic Dorma Huppe Variflex moveable wall system as the best solution, Style installed four of these, evenly spaced in the expansive area so that smaller training and meeting rooms could be created to cater for different uses each day.

The outcome offered Worcester Bosch the flexibility to create 5 separate rooms, or several choices of different room configurations. For example, 2 larger training rooms, 2 smaller rooms and 1 large – or even open up the entire area for larger gatherings and conferences.

With impressive 57dB Rw acoustics, privacy was ensured at all times when the walls were in position, and the semi-automatic operation ensured the acoustic seals were applied to the correct pressure every time.

Applying a writeable, dry wipe magnetic white board finish meant the walls could also be used for note taking, brainstorming and training making this both a flexible solution and a very practical one too.

“We’re always delighted to be asked back to a client’s premises,” said Steve Williams, Style’s sales director for the Midlands, “and once again we were pleased to be working with Speller Metcalfe.

“The solution we installed offers Worcester Bosch such extensive flexibility and means they can make the very best use of their space during different times of the day, avoiding the need to hire training and meeting facilities externally.

“That’s the real beauty of a high quality moveable wall such as the Dorma Huppe Variflex. It’s so effortless to manoeuvre that you can adapt your room configurations for a variety of uses at a moment’s notice, and the acoustics are so breath-taking that you can run meetings or events either side of the wall undisturbed.”
