In 2016/2017 Corby’s Holiday Inn underwent a £2.4million transformation with the new open plan lobby and dining area, all of its executive bedrooms, some standard bedrooms, 5 bedroom suites, 6 function rooms and all public areas being revamped to an amazing standard.

Working with CBP Architects directly with The Holiday Inn, Style was specified to give flexibility in the ground floor meeting rooms, enabling the hotel to quickly alter the use of the space to accommodate different functions and maximise revenue.

Offering a solution that created either three separate meeting rooms, one large and one smaller room (either as a meeting room or break out area), or a complete open plan space for larger gatherings, Style installed two DORMA Variflex moveable walls.

Finished in a stylish antique oak laminate, and providing impressive 52dB Rw acoustics, concurrent meetings can take place undisturbed and the room can be reconfigured with speed and ease by members of staff.

“DORMA’s Variflex moveable wall is ideal for hotels, or where an operable wall is in a public area,” said Mike Fine, director for Style in the Midlands.

“The reason for this is that a key feature of Variflex is that the faces are easily detached from the frame whilst the panel remains on the overhead track. It means if one is damaged you only have to swap the affected panel face rather than replace the whole system, which can save a great deal of money.

“The Variflex range also includes acoustic moveable walls up to 14.5m high, which means they can accommodate very high ceilings in large conference centres and exhibition halls.

“We can also provide an extensive collection of finishes, which means there are no limits to the way it can be incorporated into a room’s interior design.”

Style is the exclusive UK partner to DORMA. As well as a complete design and installation service, Style also provides a full servicing, maintenance and repair service to protect the longevity of its moveable walls.
