For any golf club, the club house is in daily use, often hosting multiple events. Being able to create a private area for team dinners, societies, club meetings, and presentations is essential so that special events can be held concurrently alongside members and guests enjoying the main bar. Working with designers, Julian Darwell-Stone from Tangram Furnishers in Edinburgh, Style was appointed to install 3 moveable walls in the main lounge bar.

With a wide range of design and constructional variants, DORMA Variflex was chosen as it is ideal for any application where the purpose is to allow people to meet, communicate and generally feel comfortable in their surroundings.

By offering a 25 year warranty also meant that Style gave the golf club complete peace of mind that their investment in flexible space was for the long-term. Matching the club house’s interior design, two different finishes were chosen with a plum finish for one wall and clean grey white on the other two. An outstanding acoustic rating of 49dB meant events could run in complete privacy without any disturbance.

“We were delighted to have been appointed by a golf club with such heritage and tradition,” said David Louden, Style’s director for Scotland. “The 25 year warranty was extremely important to the club, because any money has to be invested very wisely and this gave them reassurance that the investment by the club would be very long-lasting."

“Variflex is an excellent solution for sub-dividing space in older buildings because it offers very high levels of flexibility, even in the case of complicated room proportions or where sloping ceilings or circular spaces have to be accommodated.”
