Style repairs 7 metre high
moveable wall at Conference centre

At a major conference centre in the North of England, their 7 metre high moveable wall was not functioning properly due to issues with some of the panels. This was making the wall acoustically weak which was causing problems with noise interference when concurrent events were being hosted.

Style’s service and repair team were called, and because the panels had been manufactured in two sections due to their height, they needed to uncouple the bottom section of the panel. This enabled Style’s engineers  to make the necessary internal adjustments to the mechanism where the acoustic integrity of the wall had  been compromised. Having made the necessary adjustments, the engineers then re-coupled the panels, and tested the panels to ensure the acoustic seals were working correctly.

“This is a very good example of where a relatively minor issue with a movable wall can cause real problems,” said Daniel Forrest, operations director at Style North.

“For a conference venue, not only is it important to be able to divide the space quickly when hosting more than one event, its also essential that each event is not disturbed by the other.

“An issue with the acoustics can, therefore, make the wall unusable which is why it is so important to have it repaired as quickly as possible.”

As the UK’s leading service and repair specialists, Style can support all types of moveable, folding and sliding walls, and is the only manufacturer-approved repairer for Dorma Huppe, Skyfold and SWG.

Through its four offices, strategically located in the South, Midlands, North and Scotland, Style offers a UK-wide network of engineers, and repairs can typically be carried out on the first visit, as our engineers carry replacement parts.

If, for any reason, immediate repair is not possible we will aim to have your moveable wall back up and running within a couple of days, subject to availability of parts.
