Working with Michael Laird Architects, and GHI Contracts, Style was specified to create flexible space in the company’s meeting rooms.

With panoramic views of the city, this is a real showcase client meeting facility, and Style installed a Dorma Huppe Variflex glass moveable wall the full length of the room. This semi-automatic operable wall with a 52dB acoustic rating creates an expansive conference room, as well as a corridor and breakout area.

A further Dorma Huppe Variflex solid moveable wall, also with semi-automatic operation and a 59dB rating, was installed in the centre of the room enabling the larger conference area to be further sub-divided into two smaller meeting rooms, abutting the glazed system.

A stylish manifestation was added separately to the glazed moveable wall system, and the Shepherd and Wedderburn logo was added to the solid moveable wall creating a chic and sophisticated interior design.

“This is a stunning meeting area with incredible views of Edinburgh’s skyline,” said Angela McGowan, sales director for Style Scotland. “By introducing two separate moveable walls, we are able to make the space adaptable for different events. It offers the freedom to open the entire floor into a complete open plan, use the glass moveable wall to create one large conference area or include the centre moveable wall to host two concurrent meetings.

“The top end acoustic ratings of both walls enables meetings and events to take place undisturbed, and the semi-automatic operation means the acoustic seals are applied to the correct pressure each time the walls are moved into position.”
