St. Barnabas Library is a Grade II listed building on French Road in Leicester. It offers a range of services for the local community, including books to borrow, computer and information access and it even became a warm space during the energy crisis, providing a comfortable place to relax and a friendly welcome.

Visitors can now also make, edit and share their own video content thanks to cutting-edge facilities opened in March 2023, which were created as part of an £85,000 project.

Working with contractor, Olivetti, Style was specified to give this part of the library flexibility by installing a Stylefold 120 folding wall with integrated vision panels.

Housing twelve PCs, along with a performance area, projector and viewing screen, the folding wall allows the area to be separated off or opened up to the wider library for large performances.

Its real wood oak veneer offers the perfect complement to the interior design of the building, and the 31dB acoustic rating gives peace to visitors in the library when the folding wall is in place.

“Our Stylefold 120 folding wall is a simple, yet very effective, solution for quickly dividing space,” said Steve Williams, sales director for Style Midlands.

“And by integrating the vision panels gives the whole area an expansive, open plan feel and maximises the light in the room.

“It opens up new options for the library to host events and offer a great deal more to the local community than simply book lending and information services.”

Style is the UK’s market leading moveable, folding and sliding wall specialist with offices in the South, Midlands, North and Scotland.

Offering a full range of solutions for dividing space it is the exclusive UK partner to Dorma Huppe, Skyfold and SWG, catering for all requirements and budgets.
